AP State Wide Area Network (APSWAN) Project

APSWAN is an initiative by the Government of Andhra Pradesh, conceived for leveraging the advancements in ICT as the backbone network for data, voice and video communications throughout the State from 1999 onwards.

APSWAN was upgraded in 2010 under NeGP to provide the backbone for communication for effective implementation of eGovernance across the State. APSWAN connects State headquarters to all 13 district headquarters of Andhra Pradesh with 34Mbps and all the district headquarters are connected 46 RDO’s and 654 Mandal headquarters with 8 Mbps bandwidth. APTS is the implementing and management agency on behalf of ITE&C Department.

APSWAN is being upgraded to APSDWAN to Provide Network as a Service (NaaS) for all Government Departments of Andhra Pradesh with higher bandwidth and higher availability.
